About Stamping Oil
Introduction
- Stamping Oil is used for drawing, stamping, and forming operations. It involves to blank sheet to desired shapes.
- Reduce friction between the metal workpiece and the stamping die, improve surface finish, and prevent galling and scoring of the metal surface. It is also used as a coolant to help dissipate heat and reduce the risk of overheating.
- It is derived from various base stocks such as synthetic oils, mineral oils or mixed.
- In stamping oil there are different types of additives present such as corrosion inhibitors, extreme pressure agents, antiwear additives and emulsifiers to protect, and enhance the performance of the tool and workpiece.
- For the optimum performance and high lifespan of equipment and die, maintenance suitable application of the oil are important factors.
